Program Summary:
Lummi Tribal member Chenoa Egawa hosts the program from the Jamestown S’Klallam Reservation near Sequim, Washington. NorthWest Indian News(NWIN) is there during the Nation To Nation Relationships Gathering.

Tse-Whit-Zen Village(Hood Canal Bridge Graving Dock site)

NorthWest Indian News takes an ‘in depth’ look at the history of the village site that had been occupied by the ancestors of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe for more than 27 centuries. The Washington State Department of Transportation began construction to build replacement pontoons for the Hood Canal Bridge there, but uncovered the remains of more than 800 Klallams. The WSDOT stopped construction and the ancestral remains are now being protected from further exhumation.

“Point Elliot Treaty:  150 year Anniversary”

NorthWest Indian News discusses the importance of the Point Elliot Treaty signed 150 years ago at Mukilteo, WA. The Treaty is important today as signatory Tribes continue to be sovereign and self governing based upon terms of the agreement. NWIN records the re-enactment of historic event.
