2008 Paddle to Cowichan “ The Canoe Journey has become one of the largest annual Native gatherings in North America. Canoe families from as far away as Alaska and Saskatchewan are taking part in this year’s spiritual quest upon the coastal waters. The journey is a celebration of the living Native cultures of North America, which have endured and thrived here for hundreds of centuries.

“The Longest Walk 2” parts 1 and 2” In 1978, the American Indian Movement and others, organized a protest march across the U.S. to deliver a manifesto to congress. Now, 30 years later, Tribal members retrace their steps with a new message. NorthWest Indian News  travels to Washington D.C. for a two part report on ‘The Longest Walk 2’.  Hosted by Mary Kim Titla and Mystique Hurtado.

“Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre” The Squamish and Lil’ Wat First Nations invite the public in, to see their newly opened, world class cultural centre in Whistler, British Columbia. The Centre will be used as an events site, during the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympic games.
