New Police Chief: On May 8th, Tulalip citizen Carlos Echevarria was sworn in
as Chief of the Tulalip Police Dept.  Since retrocession in 2000, the Tulalip Police Dept.
has grown from a 3 member team focused on civil matters, to a more than 40 member department
with both Criminal and Civil jurisdiction.  Chief Echevarria is a graduate of the
Washington State Police Academy and the FBI National Academy.  He has received
numberous awards and accolades and is currently completing his bachelor degree in
Criminal Justice.  Congratulations Chief Echevarria
